I use paste extensively for work, where syncing to iCloud is not allowed. Even allowed, I wouldn’t necessarily enable it due to myself using paste app on my personal devices under the same iCloud account.
Hence requesting a feature to export the paste history to a file of any format that would allow an import on a new machine. We do need to change laptops every so often in a coporate setting :) .
Alternatively, having different workspaces which I can allocate devices to or select on demand will also work, when iCloud sync is allowed.

Hi team. I also suggest allowing exporting in a text format to be able to read using some text reader on any device. As an option, the copied items can be sorted by date. That’d be a very handy option 🙏

It would be so perfect, you could also share your pinboard with employees or colleagues
We use paste mostly to answer the clients, and better to have it in one file you could import and go fast

And if it is team work the companies will have to buy the subscriptions to each employee, so will be 10 times more users, sounds like good idea for grow of the app


The application stores it’s data in a SQLite3 DB at ~/Library/Containers/com.wiheads.paste/Data/Library/Application Support/Paste/, so if you just want to migrate to another computer, you can copy that file, however exporting to a readable format might be a bit tough if you’re not fluent in BPLIST

I can see how this would be useful for all kinds of professional situations, but I’d like to use it for:
Decluttering pinboards and paying closer attention to how I use them so I can get more out of them in the future
Syncing or otherwise making sure reference info is up to date in the various places it’s stored, e.g., that any links saved for reference and easy access are kept up to date in each place
If we could export, then import, I’d take advantage of that so I could add labels in bulk for things like links, symbols or groups of symbols, colors and their variants, etc. (tedious to do now, and I regularly mess it up by instinctively trying copy/paste from one to another)
Picking out the 1-3 actually useful versions of that thing I copied 264914620^273 times “just in case” while I was in the process of writing and/or overthinking it
Easily extracting and clearing out images and other heavy items I forgot existed, by which I mean gifs and photos of my cat that had to be sent to all my friends indiviually

This would be incredibly useful in so many ways! That said, the fact that I would love an enhancement or new feature likely dooms it :)

My company policy, doesn’t allow to use personal iCloud on work laptops. Sync using DropBox as an alternative, or Google Drive will be a big win for me

I’d love to create an integration with raycast and other parts of my workflow, would require data export or API capability.

Can’t use iCloud at work either, not permitted to log in so no sharing benefits. This make colloboration impossible.. 😭
