management and Rules based on file sizes

My biggest issue is inadvertently copying a massive folder of images for instance, to paste, and all of a sudden paste is stuck trying to sync 1gb (or other huge file size) unless i rule out Finder. I manually wnet back and removed all such large copies yet the file size (around 6gb) wasn’t updating. also, ruling out FInder of course isnt ideal if i want to copy/save text from there.
