Android app

Hi, I know that there are a lot of posts already for this, but as Apple since quite some time also has the functionality to copy and paste between devices this could be the best thing to set you aside from what’s already offered.

I did see, and try, the new things you added to Paste. But it’s really not why i’m a long time paying customer of your great tool.

The one thing that would, for sure, make me stay as a paying customer: the possibility to copy on my Macbook, iPhone or iPad, and paste (yes paste only) on one of my Android devices.

I even think I understand some of the issues that might come up doing this, it would be great if there would some kind of ‘work around’ to make this possible.

for instance:

  • create a separate shortcut to copy/paste to Android (command-C-A)
  • have the user agree (preferrably only once) that the copied content will be made available on a “public” URL that you create with a randomized token
  • have the user set how long the content should be available through that URL (30 sec / 1 minute / 5 minutes / 10 minutes / etc)
  • somehow share the unique url/token through the users account. This is the way you know what to pick up in the Android or other environment
  • in the Android environment make it possible to paste the content that is available for the limited time only through that unique temporary URL

There are possibly a lot of other ways you could make this work. This is just the fastest I could think of ad my assumption is that you can’t easily make the content, that is now only available in the Apple world available on an Android device. This would, with the users concent, create a quick work around that should be possible to create with very minimal security risks if you make sure it’s all behind the logins and is not being cashed anywhere.
